The tool finds the highest quality that still meets the target size, and scales down only if needed. Images already under the limit are left unchanged.

How it works

  1. Step 1 · Add files

Drop images into the compressor above — the 100KB target is already selected.

  2. Step 2 · Confirm settings

Wait for local processing to finish, then check sizes in the results list.

  3. Step 3 · Download

Download files under the limit — use Compare or Adjust on a result if it looks soft or still too large.

When you need 100KB

Some ID uploads, chat avatars, and older websites limit files near 100KB. Expect stronger compression or smaller dimensions on large phone photos.

If you cannot hit the target

If 100KB is unreachable at full resolution, lower max width first, prefer JPEG or WebP over PNG photos, then retry. Screenshots with text may need a lower dimension cap.

Frequently asked questions

Is the result always under 100KB?

The tool searches quality and scale to approach the target. Extremely detailed full-resolution photos may need a lower max width before they can fit under 100KB.

Are files uploaded to your servers?

No. Compression runs entirely in your browser on your device. See the Privacy page for how local processing keeps files off our servers.

Result looks soft or still too large — what now?

On that result row, open Compare to check before/after quality and size. Use Adjust to re-run just that image with a different quality, target, or max width.

Can I compress several images to 100KB at once?

Yes. Process a batch locally, then download each file or grab all results as a ZIP when they meet the limit.
