Free image compressor
Shrink images to a target size or preset. Batch several files in your browser — no upload wait — then download a ZIP. Files never leave this device.
Click to choose images, or drag them here
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG · up to 50 files · max 40 MB each
How small should files get?
The tool finds the highest quality that still meets the target size, and scales down only if needed. Images already under the limit are left unchanged.
How it works
Step 1 · Add files
Drop JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, or SVG into the drop zone above (up to 50 files).
Step 2 · Confirm settings
Pick a size preset (3MB / 2MB / 1MB) or set a custom KB/MB target; optionally change output format.
Step 3 · Download
Download one file or the whole batch as a ZIP — use Compare or Adjust on a result if quality or size needs a tweak.
Local compression vs upload compressors
| Compared to | Compress Locally (this site) | Typical upload tools |
|---|---|---|
| Where compression runs | In your browser — nothing is uploaded | Uploaded, processed, then downloaded |
| Target size | Presets plus custom KB/MB limits | Often quality-only, or locked behind signup |
| Batch work | Compress many files and download a ZIP — no upload wait | Upload each file or hit free-tier caps |
| Privacy | We never see your photos | Depends on that site's policy |
| Already small enough | Files under the limit are left unchanged | May recompress everything anyway |
What you get

Frequently asked questions
Do you upload my images?
No. Compression happens in your browser only — files never leave your device. See the Privacy page for how local processing works and what we do not store.
Which formats are supported?
Open JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and SVG. Export JPG, PNG, or WebP. GIF uses the first frame; SVG is rasterized. Camera RAW (for example PEF) is not supported.
Can I compress to exactly 200KB?
Yes — use Custom target size, or open a dedicated Compress to 200KB page. If a photo-like PNG will not shrink enough, switch output to JPEG or WebP.
What if I miss my size target?
Lower max width, change output format, or pick a dedicated KB/MB page. On any result row, open Compare to check quality vs size, or Adjust to re-run that image with different settings.
What do Compare and Adjust do?
Compare opens a before/after preview with file sizes. Adjust lets you re-compress one image — change quality, target size, or max width — without redoing the whole batch.
Can I compress many images at once?
Yes. Drop a batch (up to 50), process locally with no upload wait, then download each file or all results as a ZIP.
