When you need 300KB
Some university and government uploads specify ~300KB — more headroom than 200KB passport photos.
If you cannot hit the target
JPEG or WebP for photos; resize to 1200–1600px wide first if quality collapses before hitting 300KB.

Frequently asked questions
300KB vs 500KB — which should I pick?
Use 300KB when the form lists that exact cap. Use 500KB for general web photos when the site allows half a megabyte.
Can PNG fit under 300KB?
Logos and flat graphics often can; photo-like PNGs may need JPEG/WebP output or a lower max width.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Compression is local only — files stay on your device. See the Privacy page for details.
Batch compress to 300KB?
Yes. Process a batch locally with no upload wait, then download each file or all results as a ZIP.
