Frequently asked questions
Is JPEG the same as JPG?
Yes — same image format, different extension spelling. This page accepts both .jpg and .jpeg files and exports WebP.
Do you upload my photos?
No. Processing stays in your browser on your device. Photos are never sent to our servers — see the Privacy page for details.
Can I still compress after converting?
Yes. Lower quality in Custom settings, or open Compress / Compress to 200KB if you need a hard size limit after converting to WebP.
Does location data stay in the file?
Usually not. Re-encoding in the browser typically strips extra photo metadata, including GPS. Treat the export as a fresh bitmap without EXIF.
