Frequently asked questions
Is 1MB the same as 1024KB?
This tool treats 1MB as 1024×1024 bytes for the size limit. Some forms list 1000KB instead — use Custom target size if you need an exact number.
Can I aim lower afterward?
Yes — open a 500KB or 200KB page, or switch presets on the main Compress tool. Starting at 1MB is a gentle step before tighter limits.
Which format should I use for a 1MB target?
JPEG or WebP usually hits 1MB easily for phone photos. Keep PNG for logos with transparency; photo-like PNGs may need format change or resize.
